Ruth M. String of Langhorne went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Tuesday, March 16, 2010. She was 83.

She was the beloved wife of David W. String.

Born in Philadelphia to the late William and Carrie (Schwarz) Ruckenbrod, she lived in Philadelphia for several years before moving to Abington and then to Levittown.

Mrs. String was very active in her church with children's activities and immensely enjoyed having an active and important role in the lives of her 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was the loving mother of Ruth Anne Schieber (the late Pastor Paul) of Quarryville, Pa., David William (Linda) of Feasterville and Dorothy E. Smitley (Lawrence) of Greer, S.C.; grandmother of Timothy, Rebecca, Paul, Krisa, Karen, Jenny, David, Kristen, Rachel, Sarah and Daniel; great-grandmother of Robert, David, Julia, Loren, Sydney, Andrew, Justin, Judah and Amberlyn; and sister of the late William Brod.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing from 9 to 10:15 a.m., followed by her funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at Trinity Bible Church, 1229 Newport Road, W. Bristol, PA 19007. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery.
