Martin Luther Posts 95 Thesis

October 31, 1517  Martin Luther, a professor of bibical interpretation at the University of Wittenberg in Germany, nailed his 95 revolutionary theses on the door of the Castle Church, marking the beginning of the Protestant Reformation in Germany.

In these theses, Luther condemned the excesses and corruption of the Roman Catholic Church, especially the papal practice of asking payment (called indulgences) for the forgiveness of sins. He followed up the revolutionary work with equally controversial and groundbreaking theological works. God used this simple priest and his fiery words to set off religious reformers all over Europe.  In the dark days of human history God has always raised up men and woman to hold forth the true light of His glorious Gospel. We need such men and woman today.
